Description:
Peters Surgical I-Col is a sterile, absorbable, braided suture composed of polyglycolic acid (PGA), coated with a blend of polycaprolactone and calcium stearate. Engineered for smooth tissue passage and secure knotting, it offers excellent handling and predictable absorption. I-Col® is ideal for soft tissue approximation in general, gynecological, urological, and orthopedic surgeries. It maintains approximately 70% of its tensile strength at 14 days and is completely absorbed by hydrolysis within 60–75 days, with minimal tissue reactivity.
Key Features:
-
Braided PGA Composition – Provides strength and flexibility during suturing.
-
Smooth Coating – Enhances handling and reduces tissue drag.
-
Predictable Absorption – Complete within 60–75 days via hydrolysis.
-
High Initial Tensile Strength – Maintains ~70% at 14 days post-implantation.
-
