Estramin140 mg capsule is used in the treatment of cancer of the prostate gland. It may be also used to treat other conditions, not fully determined by the doctor. It is sometimes used with certain other medications as part of combination chemotherapy.
Estramin140 mg capsule should be taken while fasting. The calcium in the stomach could affect the functioning of the medication, so it is better to avoid milk, dairy products like cheese, and refrain from taking it in combination with an antacid or other medication containing calcium, magnesium, or aluminum. Your physician will decide what dose is necessary and how frequently you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change occasionally. You should take it exactly as your physician has advised. It may take a few weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits, but do not stop taking it unless your physician tells you to.

Estramustine belongs to a class of anticancer/cytotoxic drugs called antimicrotubule agents. It works by inhibiting the production of certain proteins that are necessary for cancer cell growth and proliferation. It also increases the estrogen levels, which in turn impedes prostate cancer by slowing/stopping the growth of cancer cells.
